3.    To alert and sensitize the public and the student body about activities for Sports Day 2004 using both the print and electronic media.
4.    To formulate a budget for the Sports Meet.

1.  To draft, compile and distribute requests, invitations and thank-you letters for all aspects of the Sports Meet.
2.  To prepare the programme for the opening ceremony.

5.  To select ushers from among the student body for the Sports Day.
6.  To ensure that all invited guests are ushered to and from their seats before and after the opening ceremony.
7.  To compile and present to the Catering Committee, a list of the officials and
     guests for whom snacks and lunch will be provided.

3.  To select and confirm officials for Sports Day (e.g. starters, track judges, time keepers).
4.  To seek to obtain at least two tents for Heats and Sports Days.

     Ludorum and the Winning House for the Sports Day.

1.    To ensure that there is a good public address system in place for Heats and Sport Days.
2.    To ensure that these systems are up and working about one hour before the scheduled start of the events.
3.    To give vital information to the athletes and spectators, especially as it relates to the upcoming events and the             names of athletes for each event.
4.    To work in close collaboration with the Steering and other committees.     


A.    Dates for School Sports Day.

Form Heats:      (12th ? 30th January, 2004 ? (during P.E. classes)
Road Relay:      2nd February, 2004

Juniors ? Round school ? 10:00 a.m.
Open ? Bus Stop in Buccament to School yard ? 2:00 p.m.

General Heats:    /02/04 ? Campden Park

SPORTS DAY:   18/02/04 at Arnos Vale Playing Field.

Procedures:

i.    Each student is expected to participate in their respective form (during P.E. classes) heats.  Standard times and distances will be set for each event and each division.

ii.    Students will be awarded one point for their house once he/she completes the distance in a serious manner.

iii.    An extra point will be awarded for students who attain the standard time or distance set.
iv.    Only students who obtain standard will be eligible to participate in the general heats day.
v.    The best eight times and distance will qualify to participate on Sport Day.


Events to be competed

Juniors:  100m, 200m, 400m, 1000m, Long Jump, Shot Putt, Discuss, (Boys & Girls)

Intermediate & Seniors:  100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump, Discuss, Shot Putt, (Boys & Girls)

Open Events:  3000m (Girls) and 5000m (Boys)
N.B.  Open means any age group may compete in this event.


B.    Encourage students to participate fully in the various training
     programmes for the various sports in the School.  Check schedule.

C.    Preparation for the Inter-house Soccer and Net-ball competition in
      both Junior & Senior Divisions after exams.

i.    Fund-Raising ? track and field uniforms for each house.
ii.    Banners / House Feed.
